Experimental Climate Monitoring and Prediction for the Maldives – July 2023

 

HIGHLIGHTS

Monitored: In June, the northern and central islands received up to 10 mm of rainfall, while other islands received less. Westerly to north-westerly winds observed during the month.

Predictions: El Niño conditions are present and will continue through the Northern Hemisphere winter.  Seasonal climate predictions predict a wet tendency for the entire islands from August to October 2023.
